The Good 4 You icon is a green circle that says ‘Good 4 You.’ This icon can be found on all product shelf-tags that meet our Registered Dietitian-created guidelines. This means that this icon will help identify foods that meet our guidelines.

After reviewing recommendations from the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the American Heart Association, FDA, USDA, World Health Organization, Mayo Clinic and the Harvard School of Public Health, our team of nutrition experts developed our own science-based guidelines for Good 4 You options found throughout our stores. Good 4 You items focus on whole grains, lower sodium, little to no added sugar, lean protein, lower in saturated fat and healthy fats.

Products labeled as Good 4 You in our stores meet guidelines developed by our team of nutrition experts. These guidelines include nutrition and ingredient parameters based on the various food categories throughout out stores. Each category has specific criteria. Here are a few highlights of parameters:

  • Granola bars must have whole grain as first ingredient, have 3 grams of fiber and no more than 10 grams of total sugar
  • Juices that are 100% juice
  • Yogurt has no more than 10 grams of total sugar

  • At this time we are not including recommendations on baby products (items meant for those under 2 years old).
