Hornbacher’s Online Ordering FAQs

 

  •   How do I get started? Create an account at shop.hornbachers.com and order your groceries online today.

  •  Do I need to sign up for an Instacart account if I have a Freshop account? Yes, you will need to create a new Instacart account at shop.hornbachers.com. If you had a Freshop account, make sure you sign up for Instacart with the same email address. This will allow us to transfer your past purchases to the new service.

  • Will my past purchases transfer from Freshop to over to the new Instacart service? Past purchases will transfer provided you use the same email address that was used on your Freshop account.

  • Is store pick up available? Store pickup is available in Fargo at Village West. For more information about store pickup, click here.

  • How do I choose store pickup or delivery? Once you’ve begun the checkout process, you’ll have an option to select store pick up or delivery.

  • How much does delivery cost? Delivery is free for the first Instacart order. After the first Instacart order, delivery costs start at just $3.99 + 5% service fee for a two hour or scheduled delivery with a purchase of $35 or more. For one-hour delivery or orders under $35, the delivery fee is $7.99 + 5% service fee. The service fee is not a tip and will not go directly to the shopper or delivery driver. Customers have the option of adding a tip to their order. There is a $10 order minimum on all orders. Customers also have the option to purchase an “Express Membership” for $99 annually or $9.99/month which includes free delivery for all orders over $35. There is no service fee for Express Membership Customers. 

  • How much is store pickup? Your first Instacart order of $35 or more will have free delivery or pickup. After that, a small fee of $1.99 is added to store pickup orders. You can see the pickup charge listed when you schedule your delivery at checkout. Are you a frequent shopper? You can also get unlimited free delivery and store pickup for $9.99/month or $99/year through the Instacart Express subscription. 

  • What is the service fee? The service fee is a small percentage added to your order that Instacart uses to provide customer support. This fee is not a tip and will not go directly to the shopper or delivery driver.

  • Can I tip my shopper or driver? Yes! You’re always welcome to add a tip to your order before or after the delivery is made. Your tips go directly to the people who are fulfilling and delivery your order.

  • Where can I find the weekly ad deals? The weekly ad deals are listed in the Weekly Savings aisle. Other online promotions are listed under Coupons, Sales, and Savings for You.

  • Can I link my Hornbacher’s rewards account to my Instacart account? At this time, Hornbacher’s rewards accounts cannot be linked to your Instacart account.

  • What happens if an item I ordered isn’t in stock? We do our best to ensure that you receive every item you ordered, and when an item isn’t available, we try to find you the next best option. Any item added to your cart will default to “Replace with best match.” With this option, your shopper is prompted to select the best possible replacement. You can change this setting for any item on the checkout page. Select “Add replacement option.” There, you can select “Choose replacement” or “Don’t replace.” You will be refunded or charged for the difference in price on any replacement items. Update your notification settings if you want to receive alerts when an item is replaced or refunded by your shopper.

  • When will I be charged? When you check out, a temporary authorization hold that is slightly higher than your estimated order amount will be placed on your card. This is because the final amount may vary slightly due to special requests, substitutions, or variable weight items (such as produce or meat). After delivery the hold will drop off, and your card will be charged for the final total. The final charge will appear within 7 business days after order completion.

  • Do you accept EBT? EBT is not accepted at this time.
